Cutback Wither Fit Guide Designed with our Cutback fit, this sheet is well suited for horses with a naturally sloped shoulder, low to flat shorter wither, nicely toned muscle, and flatter topline. The cutback wither leaves the mane untouched and is often suited to horses with a more upright head carriage or longer mane. Measure chest to tail, along the side of the body across the widest part of the shoulder and hindquarters. If you land between sizes, size up — a snug fit causes pinching and rubs. The patented Adjusta-Fit® system gives you two inches of adjustment, so you can customize the neck opening for horses of different widths and head carriages, from wide warmbloods and stock horses to narrow thoroughbreds and Arabians.

The design of our Cutback sheets leaves the mane completely uncovered since the sheet is cut back behind the withers. Darts at the hip form a contoured fit around the rump.

"This is a great blanket! It stays in place really well, even with the cutback wither. My little mare is very active, and it doesn't shift through all of her running and rolling. It sheds dirt and water, and stays looking very nice. The weight is just right for my trace-clipped pony in our Idaho winter. My only complaint is that the surcingles were WAY too long adjusted as short as they could be, and I had to shorten them a bunch. The leg straps are also too long at their shortest adjustment. It is such a nice blanket that I chose to do these minor modifications to make it perfect."
